Merry Christmas!! :)

Merry Christmas from the Yeo family :)

"You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why......
Santa Claus is coming to town!!!! :)

HO HOHO!!!! :)

Santa and his reindeer .... is that Rudolf??? :)
Those good ol' Canadian snowflakes keep appearing...this time from Auntie Kathy! :)
Mommy likes them so much, she thought she would give them a try too! :)
Shekina is reading her new books to her new Teddy, compliments of Grandpa and Grammy... :)
We had a special Birthday cake with candles for Jesus. Shekina is holding baby Jesus as we put Him in the manager. Happy Birthday Jesus!!

Daddy and Shekina's 1st Christmas tree! :)

Denny had never had a Christmas tree before so we decided to all go to a Christmas tree farm to cut our very own Christmas tree! :)
Denny and Shekina are in the wagon pulled by the tractor to take us out into the field.....

"A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go...hi ho the tario, a hunting we will go! :)

AHA...1 1/2 hours later we found our tree....
As you can see, it was getting dark, and we were about the last ones to be picked up by the tractor.... otherwise we'd be sleeping with the Christmas trees!! :)

Daddy putting the lights on the tree...

Shekina enjoying the fun as we put out our snowflakes....a Canadian touch! :)
Our special candle in the window...
Shekina LOVES to be up at the counter with me as we cook! :)We are making my Great Aunt's special gingersnap recipe. We were mailed a tin of these special homemade, hand kneaded cookies when I was a little girl and my dad would pass them out to us as if they were gold!! :) So we resurected this "Setter" tradition! :) Shekina is helping "knead" the dough!! :)

Shekina's 2nd birthday - October 16, 2006

Shekina shared her birthday (a few weeks early) with her cribmate, Karlie and her family. A second family we travelled with to China was also suppose to join us but their children were sick. We had a pool party.....

We received a lovely cookie basket with all the children's name on it from Gwen, Bob and Jane's daugher (who are in Michigan) and they would have loved to join us, but they were with us in spirit! :)
Karlie(left); her older sister, Myellie (center) and Shekina Joy (right)

Here the girls are taste testing the meringue before we put it on top of the baked Alaska as their birthday cake!! They think this is the greatest!! We dressed Shekina in the same outfit that she was wearing on her "Gotcha Day" as we reminisced and looked at our China pictures. Actually birthday cake pics are on video! :)

This was a few weeks later..which was actually a day after her 2nd birthday!

Shekina Joy, you have changed so much in one year!!
Boy, oh boy, do we ever love you!! :)

1st Anniversary of "Gotcha Day" - September 28

"Gotcha Day" is the first day we held Shekina in our arms and she found her "forever family"! :) In honor of the occasion, we dressed her in the same outfit she was wearing on that special day. Go back to October 2005 and take a look! :)

Adoptive families celebrate this day as a Family Day to honor this very special day!! :)

Shekina loves her little dog, Gracie! :)

Playing with Daddy is tons of fun!! :)
